The Kindness of Others
Hello,
Welcome back and today we will be talking about transference between each other! I promise it won't be boring. :)
I recently was moving from one city to another, so I can work on expanding and building my business. During the move, on a lonely strip of highway, the car in front of me decided to drop his entire left side car skirt on the road. I couldn't avoid going 75mph and slammed right into it. I feel the whole truck jump up and a loud SMACK! Then the hissing of the tire losing its air. I pull to the side of the highway and get upset about the situation (as anyone would).
We call the truck company and file a report. It takes almost an hour for anyone to get to us. Our truck has special tires where they can't just replace them, they have to take the rim off and send it back to the shop to get replaced....of course that's not it. The heat is sweltering, we had the truck on to stay cool in a desert land with no real sights to look at besides the massive bugs.
About three hours into the ordeal, we have a few snacks and water (thank goodness). A police officer decides to stop and speak with us, we weren't concerned or worried but it was a nice gesture knowing we weren't alone in the boonies.
He opens his door and walks up to us with a very relaxed look. Leans over our mirror and says "You folks know that you won't make it far using a jack for a back wheel right?" We smiled and said "Well, guess that's why we will just sit here for a little longer." Going further into our conversation, he asked if we were hungry, we explained we had a few snacks. He goes back to his cruiser and gives us his yogurt and corn nuts from his lunch. Then, we start talking about what we were doing out there, and explained we were moving to building our business. He decided to see what we sell, and we showed him some of the products, he said the best thing ever. He said, "they stink pretty" We laughed and he decided to try out one of our candles.
With any situation there is good to come from it, his kindness and support showed that there are great people in every line of work and most do want to help you. Give each person a chance and enjoy every minute you have!
Thanks for reading and have a great day!
